Accessibility Statement

At Wigwag, access to information for all is core to our mission. We are committed to this ideal through not only our journalism, but also our engineering and design practices. We invest in tools and technologies to make this website and our digital journalism experience usable and accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities and those who use screen readers or other assistive technology/settings. Our efforts are guided by the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
While we still have work to do, we have already incorporated a number of improvements to our online content, including the following:
- Alternative text for images
- "Skip to Main Content" links in navigation menu
- Semantic HTML headings and landmarks
- Color contrast ratio improvements
- ARIA labels for additional context to screen readers
- Keyboard navigation
- Closed captioning for videos
Accessibility is an organization‑wide commitment, and we are excited to deliver an inclusive online experience. We will continue to work with our experienced website accessibility consultants to audit, and make further improvements to our website.
Third-Party Content
While we strive to ensure all content on our platform is accessible, some third-party content (such as embedded videos, social media posts, or advertisements) may not fully meet our accessibility standards. We encourage our partners to provide accessible content.
